1984 blog 11

This book became interesting very quickly. The main character, Winston, lives in this dictator world, where everything is opposite and there is no freedom of the people. They believe that "War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, and Ignorance is Strength." The government holds all the power and they control not only the People's actions but also their thoughts. The mind police will kill anyone who thinks differently. And if someone is "vaporized" they are erased from existence. Any records about them would be completely destroyed so that they would no longer exist. Winston believes that this is wrong, although he loves his job which is controlling these records and erasing people from existence. But he worries because the government turns kids against their parents and doesn't allow love. Although, I think Winston loves the "dark haired woman." He always feels this odd sensation when she's around, and I think he really likes her, but the government won't allow it.
