At this point in the story, Winston and Julia decide to go to O’Brien to join the Brotherhood. He says that The Brotherhood does exist and they need to swear to do whatever to do what’s best to take down The Party. I was surprised to how much they swore to, like all throwing acid in a kid’s face! I’m also not too sure about O’Brien. I don’t completely trust him, just because I feel like he can tell Winston to do anything and say “it’s for the Brotherhood,” but really its for the best of him. Also O’Brien gave Winston the book, later in the suitcase. And the theories were pretty interesting, because I wasn’t sure how The Party’s thinking was working. But I still don’t agree with it.
