Amir and his father find their own home in America. Here their relationship becomes stronger and sadly his father becomes sicker. But his father stays strong and they start accepting each other. Amir sees his dad's weaker side as Baba, or his father, begins to accept his writing career. Although, Amir meets a woman with a bad reputation, but he falls in love with her quickly. They soon get married, and shortly after Amir's dad dies. After awhile, Amir tries to have a kid but for some reason his wife cannot produce a baby.
I think Amir believes he is being punished for all what happened to him, and maybe this is true. To be honest, i'm glad that his life is going badly, he treated Hassan horribly and he deserves it.
